“Yoga does not just change the way we see things, it transforms the person who sees.” B.K.S. Iyengar
Yoga is an art, a science and a philosophy. It touches the life of man at every level, physical, mental and spiritual. It is a practical method for making one'e life purposeful, useful and noble.
Yoga is based on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. This is a collection of 196 terse aphorisms that outline the whole philosophical basis of yoga. It was written by sage Patanjali who is thought to have lived somewhere between 500 and 200 B.C.
The sutras cover all aspects of life including how to overcome the afflictions of the body and the fluctuations of the mind thus paving the way for spiritual development.
